The Chairman of the Indonesian Mini Football Committee (KSMI) Dr H IR Yan Mulia Abidin SE. M.Sc (YMA) expressed optimism that the 2026 Asia Mini Football Championship, to be held at Jakabaring Sport City in Palembang, will run smoothly and in accordance with the established schedule.
Furthermore, YMA announced the committee’s commitment to ensuring the event proceeds as planned. “We are committed to providing the best facilities and services for the smooth running and success of this event. As a sign of our seriousness, all preparations have been made in accordance with standards set by the IMF. We are also fully prepared for the Assembly and drawing processes required for the championship,” he stated.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Organizing Committee, Agung Kurniawan, added that he is optimistic the event will be held on schedule and will be a great success. The championship will receive cross-ministerial support both technically and non-technically, and several major companies are ready to serve as main sponsors.
The Secretary General of KSMI, Daeng Supriyanto SH MH, commended YMA and Agung Kurniawan for the preparations undertaken, including collaboration with experienced event organizers. He hopes this international event can be integrated with programs from several ministries, such as the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, Ministry of MSMEs, and Ministry of Youth and Sports. Additionally, the event will involve Consulates General and Ambassadors from friendly countries.
“Most importantly, during the closing ceremony we will attempt to break a MURI record in the category of most fun run participants, with a target of 100,000 people. We hope this event can contribute to boosting the local community’s economy specifically, and Indonesia’s economy in general,” Daeng concluded.
